one of her friends was also actually in a black backless top (and it was rather nice too) but i wasn’t stealthy enough to get a good shot of that.

on a tragic note : MY CAMERA IS BUSTED. this explains the slow down in post frequency. i’ll need to hire a photographer/photographerS to help me shoot people. in. school. or use my camera phone. we’ll see.

AFW at LUAU; The Dorm’s ORSEM Party

I think all you Ateneans know by now that the school’s dormitories, Cervini and Eliazo, which comprise of male and female freshmen students from around the country, undergo a second ORSEM aside from the one in school. The whole resdience hall community known as ARSA, which also includes the upperclassmen from the University Dorm right behind Cervini and Eliazo, is involved in the process of strengthening the bonds of its youngest batch through many rigorous activities which will force them to depend on each other and the upperclassmen to successfully finish the ORSEM.

But really, Ateneo Fashion Watch is here because last Saturday, there was a really big party to celebrate the end of the strenuous tasks of the dorm ORSEM and to kick-off the second month of the school year with a party so hot, it kinda stopped raining for the rest of July’s days. LUAU, the dorm’s Hawaiian themed party shows that whether you’re from Cebu, Davao, Bacolod or even freaking Siquijor, if your an ATENEAN, YOU KNOW HOW TO PARTY!!!

After gearing up our cameras, and dressing up as Hawaiian locales, we head for the University Dorm Rotunda where the party is held. Here by the entrance, we are greeted by our tour guide.

"Welcome. This party does not support the Hannah Montana movie, so it is certified AWESOME."

He led us to where the party was at, and I thought I almost experienced an epileptic seizure from the colorful and flashy scene. There were flowers printed on almost everyone’s clothes and torches blazing around the dance floor.

Like any other party, there’s the juice bar (no alcohol, just lots and lots of sugar)

before the shots though, i just have to say that the feedback we get for the blog is… unexpected, to say the least. of course we expected haters (there will always be those people to dampen everyone’s fun), but to the extent that they would criticize AFW for being a “bringer of class wars” and such (just search ateneo fashion watch on google and you’ll see what i mean)…! it’s pretty amusing, i guess. check out the comments and you’ll see a burn somewhere there; it’s quite funny, really. to those who can actually be mature about the whole thing and take it without getting high strung, to those who can actually see the point of the blog itself, we’d like to thank you for reading; rest assured, we will keep up the updates.

Luxury Brand Commercials

Have you ever been tempted to buy fakes? They’re cheaper, right? And they cost less, so why not? Actually, the costs are hidden, but substantial. You know how people always complain that there’s a recession ? Well, counterfeiting cuts across industries and actually harm the economy. So support the real deal, whether its bags, clothes, watches and OPM music (love your own, right?). Foreign artists and big shot movie makers can afford to take a hit. Kidding. That’s bad.

Serious stuff aside, I just love commercials and I think that some of them are more entertaining than actual TV shows. Here are some ads from a few fancy (ridiculously expensive but horribly enticing) brands which will make you feel that owning the genuine article will enhance your life immeasurably. The value of the real thing is hard to define but that’s what commercials are for, right?

Ateneo Fashion Watch at Ascend!

Last night AIESEC had an event in Ascend and some of the fashion watchers were there to take a sneak peak at what the Ateneans wear when they’re out partying.

The line outside was super long and it took us some time to get in. While we were outside we spotted some interesting things.

Finally, inside!

And inside we saw the latest in must have’s, some good ideas  and a variety of outfits ranging from high style to fun and casual cool.

A pamaypay is surprisingly handy in clubs.

By the end of the night we were all so tired and thirsty from checking out what everyone was wearing and of course, from dancing.

Forgive us, the quality of the pictures are pretty bad but it’s hard to steal shots of people when everyone’s dancing around and when your little camera’s blinding flash blows your cover.

printed summer dresses rain or shine!

It’s been raining everyday now, but it hasn’t stopped Atenean females from wearing printed, girly, dresses. Sometimes even I find myself stretching last summer’s trend. The weather’s tricky, I reason, and mornings are just too damn hot. Or the dresses are just too damn cute
